A statue of John F. Kennedy stands outside the State House in Boston.
National Park Service rangers held a ceremony at the historic site at 1 p.m., and a small religious ceremony was held this morning, said Jim Roberts, a park service spokesman.
Back in 1963, just days after the assassination, the home also served as a place for mourners to honor Kennedy, when it was the site of a large memorial service. At the time, the house was a private residence.
