Pakistani security officials say two foreign aid workers were kidnapped in the city of Multan in central Punjab province Thursday.
The officials said gunmen abducted an Italian and a German.
Italy's Foreign Ministry has confirmed the abduction of an Italian citizen in Multan. Germany's foreign ministry has not verified the kidnapping of one its citizens.
Authorities say the kidnapped foreigners worked for an aid group that helped victims of the 2010 floods.
No one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
