Further south, heavy snow has been falling in parts of central Scotland. The A9 between Dunblane and Greenloaning is badly affected.
Police said the road has been ploughed, but conditions were described as "difficult". Motorists were urged to take care.
At 11:00, all major routes were passable.
An early casualty of the weather was the scheduled football match between Ross County and Partick Thistle, which was postponed because of snow.
