Stockport body: Decapitated man John Grainger 'had been shot'

A man found decapitated and burnt in Stockport died from a shotgun wound to his head and another head injury, tests have revealed.
The body of John Grainger was found by fire crews early on Thursday on a verge opposite Gala Casino in Wellington Street. His head was found nearby.
Post-mortem tests have confirmed he was shot and also suffered a "blunt force" injury to the head.
Two men, aged 29 and 31, are being held on suspicion of murder.
The men were arrested prior to the discovery of 32-year-old Mr Grainger's body on suspicion of possessing shotgun cartridges, but were later rearrested.

The body was found by firefighters not far from Stockport Magistrates' Court.
Supt Pete Matthews from Greater Manchester Police said the force had "a team of dedicated detectives who are working hard to establish the exact circumstances surrounding John's death, so we can provide his family with some much-needed answers".
He added: "We will be continuing with our inquiries and speaking to local residents."
