North Dakota University Awarded Unearned Degrees to Foreign Students

An audit of a university in North Dakota shows that hundreds of foreign students were admitted despite lacking credentials and were awarded degrees without completing coursework.
According to the report, released Friday, only 10 of the 410 foreign students awarded joint degrees since 2003 at Dickinson State University actually completed all the required course work.
The audit, conducted by the North Dakota State University System and the State Board of Higher Education, said the majority of the foreign students were Chinese, although some came from Russia.
Dickinson State said in a statement that it will work with the students to help them earn valid degrees.
