IRWINDALE, Calif. - At least three people were shot Friday afternoon in an office building housing the Southern California Edison Utility Co., police said.
Police Chief Dennis Smith says a gunman opened fire in the building Friday, wounding at least one woman and one man before killing himself.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said it is sending firefighters to the building.
Two nearby schools, a middle school and an elementary school, in Irwindale, Calif., have been locked down, KCBS-TV reported on air.
Edison officials had said on Twitter that a shooting took place in its offices but they have not confirmed the number of injuries.
