Alec Baldwin's Twitter account vanishes

Has another celeb voice decided to go social-media silent?
After being kicked off an American Airlines plane for refusing to stop playing Words With Friends on his iPad on Tuesday and tweeting about it, Alec Baldwin's Twitter account has ceased to exist.
Soon after the incident, he encouraged his 600,000 followers to unfollow him, urging "let's crash this account."
It seems to have worked. His @AlecBaldwin page no longer exists, although @deactivated001 has all his previous tweets.
American Airlines has now come out with its side of the story, putting a statement on its Facebook page, saying Baldwin was "extremely rude to the crew."

Happening now: Twitter is blowing up with reports that Alec Baldwin was kicked off an American Airlines flight at LAX this afternoon.
And the actor has explained why:
"Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt"
It all started when Michael J. Wolf, Founder and Managing Director at www.activate.com, tweeted:
"On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait"
Many jumped onto Twitter to talk about it, including a "Newt Gingrich" parody tweeter, who wrote:
"Alec Baldwin should never be allowed to fly quite frankly. His liberal politics represent a clear and present danger to the U.S."
And another person who joked:
"I was on the plane and yes Alec Baldwin was kicked off for grabbing 2 bags of peanuts and that is clearly an FAA violation. He may do time."
Baldwin continued to tweet, saying,
"But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American," and "United should buy Words with Friends."
His rep told AP that he was playing on his iPad while the plane was waiting idling at the gate: "He loves Words with Friends so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it," said Matthew Hiltzik.
Baldwin wound up on a "3 o'clock American flight," he tweeted, adding, "The flight attendants already look.....smarter."
